I don’t know if you’ve been inside a Civil War fort recently, but I have. I love visiting Civil War forts and battlefields because they give me a real sense of the history of the places we are writing about in BEAUTIFUL CREATURES, BEAUTIFUL DARKNESS & the yet-to-be-named Book 3.
If you’re not into Civil War forts, you probably won’t love this post. But if you are . . .
Some things are beautifully heartbreaking and creepy and unforgettable, all at the same time. This is one of them. It's from the oldest graveyard in Beaufort, NC. It reminds me of why I love graveyards so much — they are about love and remembering.
I bet a lot of you are wondering what Vania & I are doing in

that — so after Vania & I fed the baby squirrels from BEAUTIFUL
CREATURES (raised by my mom & all grown up), we got into something
else.
